What’s Up With Fitbit?
One of the gifts I received for my birthday was a pedometer by the name of Fitbit.
Because I work in a job that requires me to be on my feet a lot and quite a bit of walking involved, I became interested in obtaining a pedometer to track exactly what I was doing everyday. My wife took the hint, I got the tool, then I got hooked on it.
The Fitbit bracelet is so light weight, you do not even feel that it is on you. You can link it up to your computer, tablet, and smart phone.
You can set goals, link up to other people for some friendly and healthy competition and sharing. The stats are saved so you may look back and see what you have done and plan how much more you might want to do.
You will see how many steps per day, how much of that was at a higher active rate in minutes, an estimate of calories burned, and miles walked. You can also track your sleep habits.
Fitbit will give you digital awards, and daily challenges which are optional, although I highly recommend them because they keep you engaged and more important, motivated.I got a London Subway Award…..the subway has 250 miles of track, and when you reach that ‘milestone’ you get your pat on the back. It does not stop there, Fitbit keeps you engaged.
I read an article recently on the pedometer phenomenon and it reported that many will stop using it before 6 months are up. Whose fault is that? This whole website is about a life change. It’s not about how to loose a few pounds and get fit in a couple of weeks or months, then resume your previous ways and go back to premature health failure.
Your health is your responsibility. Put some fun into that life change by taking a look at the Fitbit pedometer.
