If you put yourself on a diet that is not all that effective, or that has way too many rules, such as counting points, getting rid of carbs, citrus and cookie diets, food portions by mail, etc. do not be surprised when your pant size does not budge.
Or you come back as a bigger version of yourself because you think that your off the “yo-yo”
Remember that a great diet, even when it has a high success rate, is not necessarily right for everyone. It’s important that you consider what works for you – it is not your friend’s diet or body! And it is definitely not the commercial ideas you see on the TV.

Consider your desired rate of weight loss. The faster you want to lose weight, the more intense the calorie deficit will need to be. We do NOT recommend “fast” weight loss. That will come back to haunt you!
Think about your natural food preferences and getting into the habit of reading labels. Eliminating chemicals and understanding processed foods is essential on a life change diet.
Consider your schedule. Think about how much time you have to invest in meal preparation, and make sure your diet accommodates that. We have ideas on how to incorporate an efficient way of changing your diet.
Consider exercise. How much do you want to work out? Make sure your plan is going to provide sufficient energy and carbohydrates to do so. We have great ideas on everything from easy too intense getting fit exercises!
How long do you plan to be on the diet? Understand that this is not a quick fix. This is a life change on the way you look and feel about food. A ‘yo-yo’ weight is not what we want you to go through. However, if you learn ‘how to eat’, you will find your ideal weight is a lot easier to maintain.
How often do you eat out? Does the plan allow for this? You can eat out. Just look at what your eating. Many restaurants offer healthy food choices. Remember that alcohol will have to take a back seat while you are getting down to your target weight.

Think about how you feel after eating a carbohydrate-dense meal. Do you feel sleepy or full of energy? The answer to this question will help you determine if you’d do better on a lower carb or lower fat diet plan.
